Our standards

What we do not sell

We do not publish health claims, and we do not recommend anything on the basis of a health outcome. If a thing is pleasant, we say it is pleasant.

We do not invent scarcity. There are no countdown timers on this site, no stock counters, and no offer that expires while you read about it.

We do not use photographs of people to sell objects. The pictures here are still lifes of the objects themselves.

We do not sell, share, rent or trade anything you tell us. Not the dates, not the names, not your address. There is no version of this business where that becomes acceptable.

How the lists are made

Every list is written for one occasion or one person, and each item carries a sentence saying why it belongs. If we cannot write that sentence, the item does not go on the list.

Where we earn a commission on a link, the page says so, in plain words, next to the links themselves. A commission never decides what goes on a list or in what order.

We do not quote prices, star ratings or review counts, because they change without telling us and a number that is wrong is worse than no number.

What we hold, and for how long

A date you save is stored on our own server. Names and notes are encrypted with a key belonging to your record alone.

You can see everything we hold, take a copy of it, and delete all of it from one page, in one action. Deleting destroys the key as well, so anything that survived anywhere is unreadable by anyone, including us. See how it works on the privacy page.

We keep one thing after a deletion: a one-way fingerprint of your email address, so that we never write to you again.

What is not here yet

We do not make anything yet. When we do, this page will say what it is made of, who makes it, and what happens when it arrives wrong. Until then there is nothing to promise, so nothing is promised.
