How this is made
The pictures, the lists, and the parts that are computed.
The photographs
Every object picture on this site is a rendered still life, made here rather than taken with a camera. They are illustrations of the kind of thing a list describes, not photographs of the specific item you would receive, and they are never presented as either.
There are no people in them, no logos, and no text. A knife is shown sheathed or in a block.
The lists
Each list is written by hand for a single occasion or a single person. Items are grouped, numbered and given a reason. Nothing on a list was placed there by a feed.
Where a list links to a retailer, the link is a search rather than a specific listing, so it keeps working when a seller changes their catalog.
The parts that are computed
Anniversary years, countdowns and the dates of moving holidays are calculated rather than typed. The rules and their sources are on the methodology page.
What is not here yet
We do not manufacture anything, so there are no suppliers, materials or factories to describe. When that changes this page changes with it.
